The last snowfall did some good and further filled the mountain pine slopes. In some places, it was even possible to ski direct lines from Hoadl to the Kemater Alm. The typically wind-prone slopes and ridges were blown down considerably. The toboggan run to Grinzens can be skied almost as far as the bus stop (approx. 5 minutes' walk).

Above 2000 on the shaded side is fine. Everything below that is relatively slow. It must have snowed in relatively wet last night or even rained in (even if only small amounts). All other exposures where the sun also came in yesterday and today, the snow becomes unusable much earlier. Our south-facing ascent was correspondingly arduous.

Risks

Due to the still tense avalanche situation, the route is rather flat today. Late in the day, you shouldn't be as steep on the sunny side of the trail. On the other hand, the fresh snow no longer sluffs along as much as yesterday and tends to be better connected to the old snow.

We wanted to take advantage of the fresh snow before the warm-up on Sunday, but were a little disappointed with the quality of the snow. However, Spirit and Vibes were able to compensate for this to some extent. Despite everything, we still managed to get some really nice pictures. #faketurn

Even though nobody is probably in the mood for glaciers at this time of year, the following applies for tomorrow: If you want to make the most of the good weather and get some nice turns, you should head up high!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
