Snowfall in Sellrain from 1400 m top

Snow quality

Snow line at 1400 m above sea level, therefore cardboard snow on the toboggan run to the Juifenhütte. Between Juifenhütte and about 2400 m above sea level, beautiful powder snow of about 10 to 15 cm. Then everything blown off above in the summit area. The descent into the Fotschertal is highly recommended. We had to return to the car. Not much fun skiing due to the stone fields in the upper area.

Risks

According to LLB level 3, defensive route choice and avoid drift snow because of the foehn storm the day before. The slopes to Sömen are all below 30 degrees. That was good today. In Kühtai there was blasting several times.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

The downhill enjoyment of this tour comes up short here. Despite the 1400 m elevation gain, there is little ideal skiing terrain. To make matters worse, visibility was always very limited due to clouds and fog patches
