Snow condition

Generally good snow conditions. However, some of the ridges are blown away, while the gullies are well filled. Easy descent to Haggen without any rock contact.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Approx. 15cm of powdery snow on a hard layer. Due to the wind in the gully, there is also a little more powder snow in places, making it easy to ski there. Old avalanche cones are not sufficiently covered.

Risks

There is a stable hard layer under the fresh snow. The main problem at the moment is the drift snow, which you should be aware of. At the Gaiskogelscharte, there are also quite a few cornices to the south-east, so it's better to keep your distance.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Weather unfortunately not quite as good as forecast. The plan was actually the Gaiskogel tour from the PG book. At the Gaiskogelscharte we discovered a beautiful gully heading east, which was still untracked. Rider right in the gully still good powder snow and nice to ski. Riders Left was hard and had old avalanche nodules in it. The descent to Haggen went well
