Altitude
1600 - 2400m
Avalanche warning level
low (1)
Exposition
Snow condition
In the shadow hole Axamer Lizum in the open terrain above 1700m good snow conditions, exposed areas above 2300m partly blown off.
Snow quality
To emphasize the positive: The fresh snow was cold and dry, unfortunately far too little on the hard old snow surface.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Overall impression
Short afternoon tour in the Kalkkögeln towards Ampferstein. 5-10cm of powder on mostly hard ground below 2200m. Further up partly completely blown away. Most people turned around at 2300m, very slippery to continue up with skins. Due to the old icy tracks, the skiing fun was limited.
