Pleasant day on the slopes in perfect weather in the Axamer Lizum

Snow condition
The snow conditions in this part of Tyrol still leave a lot to be desired. In many places, stones, grasses and bushes are peeking through the snow. The last snowfall brought about 5 to a maximum of 15 cm of fresh snow. This partially covers the sharks and is therefore more bad than good.
Snow quality
The fresh snow is still powdery in places on the shaded exposures, but the wind and sun have not done the snow quality any good. The pistes in the Axamer Lizum are okay, but a little icy in places.
Risks
The warning level issued by the LWD is "moderate" with fresh drift snow and warming during the day. I can confirm this. During the course of the day, we saw some (mostly) very small loose/wet snow slides. I can't say very much about the drift snow, as we mainly stayed away from endangered areas (gullies, hollows and terrain close to the crest).
Overall impression
Well, freeriding isn't really on the cards in the Axamer Lizum at the moment, but we were able to make a few relaxed turns on the piste and enjoy the good weather. By "carnival standards" there were also rather fewer people out and about
