For March 3 stars. Now there is enough snow to drive to the valleys. But still not much snow. In the forest you can still get through the fresh snow (this week) to the bottom around the valley station. Outside on open areas there is probably 20-30cm of fresh snow. Above the tree line it was not possible to judge how much wind was in it, there was too little visibility for that. Below, there were hardly any snowdrifts to be seen and so the snow was quite evenly distributed.

In the valley in Innsbruck it was 7 degrees in the morning. Snow only fell from about 800 m upwards. In the valley in Axams it was still quite damp and even in the lower part of the ski area you could tell that the snow was getting a bit heavier. But in the first 200m the snow is just as you want it to be! No 4 stars, because the snow gets heavier at the bottom and sometimes you can still get through on the relatively hard and almost always rutted surface.

Risks

According to LLB 3, we saw no avalanche activity in the area of the trees. But a lot of people in the ski area led to more and more skiing and around 12:30 there was also an avalanche accident in the area of avalanche barriers in the direction of which more and more people were crossing.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

3 stars because the runs in the right places were not rutted despite the many visitors and the snow was really good to ski on. A day on which you had to look for the good spots despite lots of fresh snow. But once you found them, it was definitely worth the effort. Let's hope that this will be the basis for a good spring in the Lizum!
