On the south side, the foehn and sun had already done a lot of work, so that we even had to carry the skis on the ascent. On the north side, cold powder on a hard surface. Blown away on ridges and in the upper part of our gully, so only hard ground.
Snow quality
Around 10 cm of fresh snow fell yesterday. Protected from the wind and sun, it was very easy to ride. Nevertheless, you still hit the hard surface again and again, which makes it a bit less fun.
Risks
Drift snow in gullies is easy to recognize. However, the amounts are rather harmless. On the sunny side, there are still snow slides lurking in the steep terrain.
Overall impression
A peaceful morning tour with a beautiful descent and fine weather. We didn't even notice the predicted wind, which was stormy in places.
