Leisurely tour to the Sonntagsköpfl
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Snow conditions are still good, all variants in the area are actually skiable. Chutes are also well filled. Toboggan run to Grinzens in good condition and skiable all the way down.
Snow quality
The quality of the snow depends heavily on the exposure, but on slopes with strong sunlight (south, southwest) there is already a hardpack and the snow generally gets wetter as the day progresses, with better snow on slopes where the sun doesn't beat down so hard. There is still good powder on the north side, but it's a bit heavier due to the relatively warm temperatures.
Risks
Quite critical. Some self-excavations from the Kalkkögel gullies, where the fresh snow often came off as a board. No huge avalanches due to the rather small amount of fresh snow, but the connection between the fresh snow and the stable old snow cover is poor. Some avalanche cones can be seen. Still didn't stop some from going up the gullies. However, I would avoid the gullies that have not yet cleared themselves out.
Overall impression
Nice weather and still good snow on the north side. The Kalkkögel gullies were too tricky for me due to the not uncritical avalanche situation. So it remained a leisurely tour to Sonntagsköpfl with a good north-facing forest descent towards Kemater Alm.
