The snow conditions are rather poor. Nevertheless, we were able to strap on our skis from around 1900m in a southerly exposure. What's more, there was no major rock contact today.

At the heights of our tour, a stable layer of snow formed tonight. In the morning, however, it was quickly very warm as the sun rose and we could actually set off in our T-shirts. The quality of the snow on the descent then depended on the course of the day and the exposure to the sun. On the descent at around 11 a.m., the upper altitude meters were very nice and firny and the lower ones were already very wet. It was still a bit hard on the west side.

Risks

If you pay attention to the warming and the drifting snow, you can be quite safe today. There was no sign of any solid moisture underneath the snow cover that had formed overnight. I was also a little (positively) surprised that the ski tourers were quite cautious.

=> Nice tour, best weather and partly fine firn

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
