Report vom 3* FWQ in der Axamer Lizum
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
3 stars because there is probably the most snow of the season at the moment. Throughout March, the snow cover in the Lizum has grown steadily and now there is finally enough snow to ski all standard variants without too much fear of stone contact. Even if the snow cover on the south-facing slopes is already starting to fill in again, everything now looks good on the north side. Even though in other seasons we have seen significantly more snow on many runs. Spring has arrived in the valley in Axams and you should think carefully about the runs into the valley, or plan some walking time on the forest paths. The north side of the forest is also a good base. Unfortunately, there was no more than 5-10 cm of fresh snow on the south side of the Inn.
Snow quality
The northerly traffic jam brought some snow but not the masses and it rained quite far up the mountain. There was snow from the valley station, but not really cold powder at the bottom. Quite good at the top, but just not enough to be top. As the day progressed with the sun and the temperatures, it quickly got worse, as is usual for this time of year. But it was never really bad on the north side and there were still a few turns in cold powder on the last runs around 4. There was some crust where the sun was out. In the Compface, the snow was consistently dry and without cover, the riders hardly had to struggle with the snow quality or too much sluff.
Risks
According to the LLB over 2000m level 3: Most of the good faces are also over 2000m, which is why the level for the Axamer Lizum could be used well. There were also many signs of wind in the terrain. We were unable to observe any major fresh avalanches. However, the fresh snow slid a little in small areas.
Overall impression
Actually good conditions for the FWQ Comp. Some fresh snow, but not too much, so that sluffing could be a problem and the ground was not too hard to speak only of dust on crust. Overall for the area but unfortunately too little fresh snow and mostly too much deterioration during the day to give 3 stars.
