Snow report Axamer Lizum, 04/04/2015
A quick afternoon of off-piste skiing in the Lizum - After a few sunny windows had opened up a view of the mountains from Innsbruck, we decided to spend the afternoon on the mountain after all - a good decision!

Snow condition
"Skiing down into the valley possible" - that's only true as far as the Lizum. But here it fits well. All variants up to the parking lot are easy to ride even if you can still guess the shape of the ground (trees etc.). But it doesn't bother you when skiing. It must have snowed more here on Saturday than in some other regions. While the west was certainly still favored until Friday, a lot has fallen here in the last 24 hours. In some places it's around 30cm.
Snow quality
The last snow didn't fall with quite so much wind. The snow is dry and fluffy on the mountain (approx. 2200mh). However, this is only partly the kind of snow you want now. As the base is a bit harder due to the beautiful day on Friday and the wind beforehand, you sometimes sink through the dry, light snow. Yes, that's complaining on a high level! The snow gets a bit heavier towards the parking lot, but it's still a long way from unrideable spring cardboard.
Risks
According to LLB3. Slides have been observed in various exposures. These were mostly triggered by skiers. In some cases it was fresh snow, which apparently slides well on a layer formed by the warm, sunny Friday. So caution is advised here.
Overall impression
A surprisingly good day with lots of snow and a few weather windows that make you want more. Spring hasn't arrived here yet!
