Faceshotting in the Lizum - you could have hoped for it yesterday and it turned out to be the top spring day.

The 4 stars are only missing here because not all runs into the valley are really possible. However, some runs to Axams are possible compared to yesterday. There was another 15cm+ of fresh snow overnight. All the treeruns to the parking lot are also super rideable. It was really deep in places. On the hikes, most of the snow sank in above the knee and areas that were blown in went up to the hips. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough snow to completely fill in the tracks from the previous day, so only 3 stars.

Loose, cold powder snow. Just the way you want it. Even the first run on the piste with approx. 15cm of base was super fun, with a face shot every time. And the treeruns were still pretty good too. From midday onwards, however, you could feel the humidity in the air and the snow became a bit wetter further down. But even then it was still top powder at the top. The only point deduction is for the deeper, wetter snow.

Risks

According to the LLB (below 2300m) level 3, which would mean a 2 for the runs in the Lizum. However, it was difficult to assess as there was no visibility for the most part. The snow fell with significantly less wind and didn't seem particularly affected on the ridges either. Nevertheless, the amount was considerable and in combination with the snow from yesterday, the 2-meter in the Lizum was certainly to be questioned critically or if you were on the safe side, you planned your strategy after a 3-meter. But you definitely had to struggle with the visibility and some sluff. A situation that is not without danger when you are washed over cliffs etc. We didn't see any snow slabs, but that doesn't mean that none occurred due to the poor visibility.

Top day! Pretty awesome for April. If the weather had held out a bit longer, so that we could try out more alpine runs, we could have done another 5 at the end of the season!
