Snow condition

Although it was no longer possible to ski down to Axams due to the summer temperatures, there is more snow in the ski area than there has been all season. That would be the perfect base right now....

Well, it wasn't even firn. The upper 300m was still skiable until midday, but it was actually all deep, slowing slush. Slushing on the piste is fun, off-piste only to a limited extent. You can tell it's over 20 degrees in the valley, and as the sky wasn't clear on Saturday, it probably didn't radiate overnight either, so there was no cap that turned into firn.

Risks

According to the LLB, a typical day with a tendency towards 3s. Also justified, avalanches were seen during the day in practically all exposures, including north-facing gullies. Everything was quite wet. Wouldn't have had a good feeling on tours even very early on.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Lots of snow, great weather and a really good atmosphere at the closing are worth 3 stars, even if freeriding was certainly not the focus on this day.... Some people were so hot that they lost their pants :)

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
