Overall, the amount of snow in the northern Stubai Alps is rather low. However, the snowfall of the last few weeks has added quite a bit of fresh snow. On our tours in the Lüsenser Tal and in Kühtai, the closed snow cover (west, north, east) started at around 1800m above sea level. As a result, skis have to be carried on some of the tours.

However, the snow quality was great. On the north side, there was still perfectly set powder to be found yesterday above 2400m above sea level. Below that, it felt like the snow had turned directly into firn. On Monday on our tour with an easterly exposure, the firn conditions predominated.

Risks

We thought the snow cover was well settled again and the avalanche risk was therefore rather low.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Without any great expectations, we still had two perfect ski touring days here in Sellrain.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
