As has been the case all season, the Axamer Lizum probably has one of the best bases north of the main ridge in Tyrol. However, that doesn't mean much in mid-May. There's still a lot of base worth mentioning in the cirques/gullies and partly on the former pistes. The fresh snow doesn't help much there either, on the ladies' run you can almost start at the bottom, away from the south side in general and otherwise below about 2000m you're pretty much in vegetables. However, it is still worthwhile at the top, but you will soon have to carry a bit longer at the bottom.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Everything influenced by the wind, quite good in wind-protected areas above approx. 2000m, quite damp below that. In areas less sheltered from the wind, wind harsh, sometimes completely blown off. Will settle quickly or in many cases quickly get a cap...

Risks

Not without it. Due to the strong winds, there is extensive drifting snow almost everywhere, which is easy to trigger. Attention must also be paid to wet snow.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

All right, unfortunately the worst visibility for years, so all in all rather nothing.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
