Snow condition
Put on skis at the parking lot at 1,500m. It has 10cm at the bottom, well compacted and therefore covering, and more than 20cm at 2,300m. Still cold and loose today. Touched grass 3-4 times on the descent on the final slope.
Snow quality
Good, still easy this morning. But no real faceshot quality, the snow conditions don't allow it at this depth at the moment.
Risks
Too little for sliding snow cracks. No loose snow slides seen in the rocks. Danger from the partially unclosed ditches and small rivers greater than the avalanche danger.
Overall impression
No worries with Steinski easy, snow conditions and quality better than expected overall. Nice first day with some powder turns and cautious bends in the final slope. There were crowds of other sports enthusiasts, but it was much fuller in other years.
