Snow report Axamer Lizum, 12/19/2017
Off-piste skiing in the Lizum
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Good snow conditions in the Lizum. Standard variants in the ski area can be skied without much stone contact. You still have to be a bit careful on blown-off ridges. The descent into Senderstal is good, the toboggan run to Grinzenz is in good condition.
Snow quality
Partly wind-influenced snow. But still powdery in many places thanks to the cold temperatures.
Risks
The steep gullies on the Kalkkögel have not yet been groomed. You can see signs of wind in the snow cover. Would avoid shady, very steep and blown-in areas. Drift snow could still be easy to disturb due to the cold temperatures.
Overall impression
Good day in the Lizum with better weather than expected. A few nice off-piste runs with a bit of hiking in good powder snow and finally 2 trips down to the Kemater Alm.
