Different. The Kühtai is already a real ravine in which it blows a lot in westerly winds. That's why exposed tours that are open to the west often have significantly less snow. Windegg west side from the Juifenalm, for example, or Pirchkogel from the west from Gasthof Marlstein. On the opposite side from Gasthof Marlstein towards Zwölferkogel (Wörgl Tal) there is considerably more snow. Here, very large rocks are already completely covered in snow and really fine forest descents are possible. So you should still pay a little attention to where there might be a lot of snow when planning your tour. The tours around Praxmar and Lüsens also have quite good conditions.

We only had good powder, but this will have changed again in the last few days. Preserved spots are certainly still there. You just have to look for them.

Risks

Not a single self-timer observed in 5 days of touring. In forest regions, a hum every now and then. These were mostly kettles with some kind of stream where surface frost is typical. Made a few ECTs, all positive. Between 2000 and 2400m we often found floating snow. The problem is easing at the moment though. The warmth is good for the snowpack, if it only snows again afterwards!

The amount of fresh snow in this region is slightly less than further west or east. However, a load of fresh snow here and there could not be missing. A very good starting position for this season!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
