Col de Porte lies in the Chartreuse, the home of the Chartusian monks who brew the liqueur of the same name. Thanks to the long-awaited fresh snow from last Wednesday, skis can be strapped on at the parking lot (1330 m) and there is now plenty of snow in the forest.

LaPeuf would love to return for the 2018/19 season with some peuf (French for powder snow). However, the temperatures have turned positive from Saturday to Sunday: The result is negative. Above the tree line, the wind is up to mischief, whereas in the forest, protected from the wind, the snow is pleasantly skiable but no longer powdery due to the higher temperatures.

Risks

Stable conditions on Sunday morning, but that changed in the night from Sunday to Monday (#PowderAlert 9).

Due to the bad weather forecast, we were expecting the worst (lots of rain). Instead, it stayed dry and the sun came through at times. What luck!
Three times we couldn't avoid putting the skins back on.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
