Lots of wet snow and avalanches in the backcountry
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Significant improvement due to heavy snowfall until the weekend. Off-piste skiing is possible up to the parking lot at 1700 m. However, some chunks of rock are still peeking around the corner... and stupidly always in places where you least expect them. Some of the ridges have been blown away by the persistent wind.
Snow quality
Lots and lots of fresh snow, heavy and wet. About 20 cm overnight and another 20-30 cm during the day. Not as dusty as hoped even at 2300 m. Unfortunately a bit heavy but surfy and also a lot of drifts above the tree line. Only at the bottom does it slow down a lot and is semi fun
Risks
Watch out! Avalanche conditions! It's very easy to kick a board off the piste, even on moderately steep terrain. The heavy snow lies on powdery layers from the previous days and with a lot of wind! Even in the forest small boards are possible
Overall impression
Lots of snow but too dangerous and heavy for carefree powder skiing. A nice alarm but I would wait for safe conditions. With an improvement in the weather and the avalanche situation, I'm sure there will soon be very good touring conditions!
