Ski tour to the Pic de la Belle Etoile in spring conditions

Snow condition
Getting lean on the south side. Exit from Rivier Allemond Partly long carrying passages in the forest. At the top it goes well. Belledonne still has a good rideable base above 2000 m.
Snow quality
Concrete-hard ascent track in the morning. Even with crampons it was hard to tackle in places. Then better at midday. Near the ascent track, it's all dirt. The last 40 degree gully over 100 m a bit hard to walk. Then pleasantly soft on the descent. Almost all of the steeper, more familiar couloirs are now tracked. Away from the hustle and bustle, brilliant firn conditions and first tracks possible! Feels like April
Risks
Most of the wet snow avalanches that were possible came down in the warmer days last week. It was pretty soggy at 1600m at 2pm and we avoided steeper sections. Above that, however, it was possible to enjoy firn snow with low avalanche danger.
Overall impression
Beautiful classic tour in the region, rightly very popular and so there was a lot going on. Somewhat next to the highways are great firn descents possible! It's quite nice but I hope it gets wintry again
