Snow condition

The snow conditions are generally good, but from le Rivier d'Allemont (1250m) up to about 1400m you have to carry.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Depending on the time of day and orientation, a mixture of firn and creme brulee in all its shades.

Risks

The situation is currently very stable: avalanche level 1 prevails, although there is plenty of snow at higher altitudes. However, caution is advised with monstrous corniches (image 2)!

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Very beautiful but strenuous tour of the CAFGI in glorious sunshine, from the foot of the Grand Pic de Belledonne (pic 3) via the Col de Balmette (pic 4) to the Rocher de l'Homme (pic 1, view of Pic and Croix de Belledonne) with an exposed descent to the south-east. It is often necessary to cheat when choosing the "spot" because there are not many massifs in the Western Alps. This time, however, Belledonne fits like a glove!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
