Snow condition

Brutally little. That would be bad even for late spring. I cycled 700 m and then had to carry it again for a short time...

Hard, pressed snow
Powder snow

So from 1600 m it was really good in sheltered areas! Beautiful, large, built-up crystals on 10 cm of powder and the old snow layer, compact but rather soft. The powder quickly diminishes underneath and the old snow becomes quite hard, but remains grippy. Can be ridden quickly and is very powdery.

Risks

South South-West

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

Hardly any avalanche problems due to the low snow conditions in this area. The main danger comes from sharks, which lurk everywhere.

Overall impression

Equal

Is that old-age meekness? Humble frugality? Or is it the onset of dementia? Can you really give 3 stars for the snow conditions? Well, you can, if you only focus on the admittedly beautiful upper turns ;) Great weather and nothing else going on. A long, snow-free route, which was relatively bearable thanks to the ebike. (A short, objective insertion: no ski tours are really worthwhile in the northern Berchtesgaden Alps at the moment - unless you're there anyway and need skiing for your salvation :) )

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
