Snow condition
You have to differentiate a little: You have to carry/cycle relatively far to get to the snow. It starts from about 1000m on the shady side, but after that there are always sections where you have to carry your bike. But from about 1400 m it's already good, there hasn't been that much this year. It's also relatively easy to step on the gas and hop around. I and the measuring stations don't see the meter that the LLB indicates, but it should be half a meter from 1600 here and there. The high altitudes are pretty blown out.
Snow quality
Weird, but not bad. There was already mud at the bottom in the morning, followed by a fairly pronounced zone with a thin crust of rain and damp pow underneath. Not without effort, but fun. There was only powder on the last few meters, which was also a bit warm, but nice. I didn't go any higher. 3-4*
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
The LLB speaks a clear language. Nevertheless, I would take a more differentiated view, the snow cover is very compact at medium altitudes. I would stay away from pronounced, steep sunny sides and the high altitudes are also taboo at the moment.
Overall impression
Finally snow and finally carefree riding in terms of the surface! Unfortunately not the Pow we had hoped for, but it wasn't too bad either. However, making tracks in the heavy, packed snow was incredibly exhausting. The coming heat is of course devastating, let's hope that there's still something left for the spring tours in shady high altitudes.
