Snow condition
Well, bad overall, of course. The lower and middle sections are particularly bad. You can still do something at the top in suitable corners, but you have to cycle and carry a long way.
Snow quality
Hm, pretty funky conditions, unfortunately none of it really good, the top is dominated by melt and wind harsh, as well as tough slab powder. Unfortunately, the bottom was very tough, slow, damp and difficult on my descent.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: low
Altitude: 1700 m – 2100 m
Risks
Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)
Extremely strong southerly winds were a constant companion, but there wasn't much to transport. Stones are the main danger.
Overall impression
Joa, nice to have been in the cirque again, but snow-wise it left a lot to be desired. Good thigh training though! Let's see, there's still room for improvement with long routes. I'm hoping for April powder, as we've often had in recent years...
