Snow condition
I cycled up to 1200m today and carried it for 5 minutes. In the steep, piste-like forest aisle you can still ski down to that point, otherwise it doesn't really get going on the shaded side until 1400-1500m. At the bottom 2 cm on compact old snow cover, at the top up to 10 cm of fresh snow.
Snow quality
Unfortunately, the old snow under the little fresh snow was quite rough in the lower areas, a small zone with broken harsh snow under thin powder above and a very small-scale mix of somewhat wind-felted powder, bare ice and crust in the higher areas. Not good, but with a little effort it's okay.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: low
Altitude: 1700 m – 2000 m
Risks
Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)
Poor visibility and the numerous obstacles are the biggest dangers. There wasn't much fresh snow and the heat wasn't an issue today.
Overall impression
Second winter backflash within a week, this time much gloomier with a snowstorm and white-out, and of course much less fresh snow. Marked drop in temperature! I'm also looking forward to being outside in these training conditions and temperatures, the main thing is skiing! :) It'll be warmer again from tomorrow and there'll be a bit more snow.
