It is clearly winter in the Julian Alps. The snow-covered mountain pines in particular are unheard of on the northern side of the Alps.

Gums up in all exposures. But it radiates well and the wind is weak enough to let the firn shine. Old tracks are disturbing, but where there is space, you can really step on the gas

Firn is always a bit difficult to depict on the general 5-star scale. But we had a huge grin on our faces today.
