Snow report Brandnertal / Rätikon, 01/20/2017
Great day, but you should choose your line carefully ... the conditions are getting worse again

Snow condition
The Pow from last week was decimated by wind or sun ... there is simply less of it. But the base will certainly become denser over the next few days and we can look forward to the next snowfall. It should be said that the sun has destroyed a lot on the southern slopes. This means that even at around 2000 meters we could see blast holes that looked more like a match cannon. On the northern slopes, however, there is still enough for everyone, although you shouldn't underestimate the drifts and the risk they pose.
Snow quality
In the south-facing slopes it was already quite sulky from midday onwards, but this could result in a nice cap tomorrow morning. BUT on the northern slopes you can still get the finest, very fluffy pow. There are some hard icy patches from time to time, but these are due to the wind and the very low temperatures.
Risks
At first we smiled at the LLB with wet snow rails, but by midday at the latest you realize that this is definitely possible. On the slopes at around 30 - 35 degrees where we were moving, everything seemed to be pretty safe. We only kept our hands off loaded gullies, which are usually classified as terrain traps. Watch out people!
Overall impression
Very cool powder day, which was mostly held on the north side and included nice short tours. Great people, great snow, tasty sausage sandwiches and a bit of sun ... what more could you want
