Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Above 1800 m quite good (especially on the shaded side) and above 2300 m strongly influenced by the wind. Below 1800 m it decreases rapidly and on the south side it is very thin from about 1500 m and soon completely snow-free.
Snow quality
On the shaded side/protected from the wind > 1400 m: soft powder and above 2000 m there was up to 30-40 cm of fine snow. Exposed spots also have a light wind cover on the shaded side! On the sunny side up to 2500 m heavy snow and from 2000 m with cover and from the tree line increasingly sticky.
Risks
Above 2300 m many wind signs and old snow-covered slopes to be seen. Saw a few new loose snow slides during the day at this altitude. From this altitude personal tendency towards 3s. Below that the 2s and 1s fit as mentioned in the LLB. The southwest wind picked up significantly during the day.
Overall impression
On the whole, satisfied with the selected tour and exposure. But something on the north side would have been much better. With good local knowledge, longer powder descents up to almost 1400 m would have been possible. But it requires creativity when choosing a tour.
