Snow condition
Great for the end of March. Very good above 1500 m and on the shaded side. In valleys above 1200 m you can still ski on the snow side. In the high mountains 4 stars and menr. On the sunny side, the snow is now clearly starting to dry out. If the temperatures remain "normal", then you can continue touring for a long time.
Snow quality
If there is no broken harsh, then there was a light cover. But all very good for riding. Today, the choice of exposure was still decisive for the fine powder. We were on the move up to around 2,400 m, mainly from north to east to southeast. In the flat terrain, the snow was still powdery up to 1400 m. Over the next few days, altitude will also be decisive in addition to exposure.
Risks
We saw many older loose snow slides and some sliding snow cracks on steep slopes. Throughout the day, we repeatedly observed loose snow slides from steep sunny slopes. Avalanche activity today was only very slightly subject to the diurnal cycle.
Overall impression
Super day with fantastic weather in the mountains. Due to the high volume of traffic, we had to make an alternative tour. Unfortunately, it was very busy, but with a little creativity, there were still plenty of first lines. This makes touring really fun!
