Snow condition
Well, it's just not enough for proper off-piste activities. But there is still a lot of skiing. Everything within reach of the ski area is skied. Grassy areas are no problem. The Mittagsspitze, the variants to Mellau, the Portlahorn, the Klipper, the Elsenkopf, the 3 Wannentour ... etc. Tracks can be seen everywhere. It is also impossible to describe the snow conditions in general terms. It's really bad on the south side. All other exposures vary locally. Subjectively, it looks best in the northern sector between 1400-1800 m and above that it is better depending on the terrain exposure, such as in gullies and hollows. Ridges and exposed areas are swept clean of snow.
Snow quality
Depending on exposure. Powder set on the shady side and on the sunny side from hard as a rock in the morning to soft and fine by midday. Depending on the wind, there may be some hard snow. With knowledge of the terrain and a feel for the time of day, you can have fun if there is enough snow, but everything is very localized.
Risks
Due to the settling and the mostly small amounts, it is certainly relaxed. Nevertheless, I wouldn't underestimate the areas of a little too much snow, drift snow accumulations (near the crest) and also sliding snow cracks. Departures can be seen on some slopes throughout the day. Level 2 has remained unchanged in this area for several days.
Overall impression
Today we tested the ski routes and then did a few laps in the small park. Without machine-made snow, things would look bleak. The prospects of more fresh snow are rather bleak.
