Snow condition
Before the predicted snowfall, the snow conditions are still below average. If it all comes down in snow, then we'll have a good base from 1800 m down. Above 1800 m the wind is, as so often, a spoilsport. There is drift snow everywhere, which is fine to ski. The fresh snow during the day was not always fluffy. At times it felt like it was getting warmer. Although it was well below zero, I would have expected it to be fluffier. Today there was (almost) untracked snow everywhere, which was constantly being replenished.
Snow quality
It's fine to drive. No question about it. But it can be even better. The fresh snow is very dull in places. Due to the cold, I would have expected it to be fluffier. Where there were no tracks before the snowfall, it could be quite interesting. Above around 1800 it will be mostly drift snow here.
Risks
Critical. Lots of drift snow on a hard crust above the whale line. You can also see a fine crust under the fresh snow. Caution is certainly required in the very steep forest. Not much was visible due to the visibility.
Overall impression
Went more between the slopes today. The area was almost empty due to the change of holidaymakers. There wasn't much to see today and it remains to be seen how much snow will definitely come down. If the forecast is to be believed, there should be a decent base throughout Vorarlberg.
