Ein kosmetischer Hauch von Neuschnee ...
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
The fresh snow is only cosmetic, but the landscape looks wintry again. Generally very variable snow conditions between 1200-2000m. Skiing is possible depending on the exposure. Contact with the ground is difficult to avoid. Knowledge of the terrain is an advantage. We were out on the SO today.
Snow quality
Several qualities. Heavy powder at the top with a light cover. Very wet fresh snow further down and soft old snow at the bottom. Powdery up to approx. 1400 m in shady corners. Despite varying conditions, it was ok.
Risks
Sliding snow and drifting snow close to the crest. The amount of fresh snow was unfortunately too small to have any real fun, but the LWL was therefore not strained. On the other hand, the wet fresh snow slid along. In extremely steep terrain, this would be quite critical. At an altitude between 1400-1700 this was an issue. Below that, the fresh snow was too little and above that it was heavy powder until our descent (around 12:00).
Overall impression
Nice morning tour with large crowds. Descent via meadows is definitely the best alternative at the moment. Unfortunately, there's not much choice in Vorarlberg at the moment. We can only hope for more fresh snow.
