A little something is going on in Damüls

Snow condition
Yes, what a day today in Damüls...the most interesting thing to report was the weather (visibility=0, freezing rain, etc... Can we actually insert a soft ice scale?) The difficulty was that the snow conditions are still not particularly satisfactory. I'm referring to the variants that are possible in the ski area. German probably had the better nose here on his tour. There was also some wind, so some ridges were blown off. Most of the slopes are still stone-mined, some of the classics in Damüls are not yet skiable and the choice of lines currently has to be adjusted on site.
Snow quality
There was a very strange mixture today. In the area towards Mellau, it rained a crust of rain on top today that significantly dampened the skiing fun. A very strange icy rain that not only froze your goggles, but also affected the snow structure. On the other side towards Uga, the snow is still soft and rideable, but already very rutted and ploughed up. It has also become warmer (no longer -17), which makes the snow much heavier.
Risks
Due to the ***poor visibility, we were drawn to the less steep terrain today. Overall, the snow cover looks very well set. The cracks and whomping noises of the last few days had disappeared. As Damüls only consisted of a few white stripes on green until recently, the danger of old snow cover in the terrain is limited.
Overall impression
Well, it's still not a real powder paradise. But the next few days look pretty good. Subjectively, the weather hasn't really improved either. But joking aside - if you love your ski surface, you won't be happy yet. A little more fresh snow please. (Pictures are a bit sparse as most of the time nothing was really recognizable...)
