Snow condition
The Bregenz Forest is known to be accustomed to snow...and in the last few days this has once again become apparent. An estimated 50-70cm has been added in the last week. Blown away in many places and therefore not homogeneous. Overnight today, a thick portion came on top - with hardly any wind in it. Some of the 3* criteria definitely applied today, but I'll wait and see how it develops tomorrow. A descent was actually possible today.
Snow quality
Already a bit set, not quite perfect. But still very easy and gigantically good to ride. Towards the afternoon, I wished I had my snorkel in one or two sections of the slope!
Risks
Watch out. In today's powder rush, we nevertheless recognized some striking potential dangers and held back. Cracks in the snow cover etc. were noticeable on many terrain peaks.
Overall impression
I actually always have my cam in use, no matter what the conditions are like. It's only on days like today, which I've only had 1-2 times a season so far, that my heart screams for MORE MORE MORE and the cam stays in my backpack. I'm looking forward to tomorrow...it's going to get even deeper.
