March conditions in January

Overall impression
Snow condition
At an altitude of approx. 1100 to 2000 m on the sunny side (SE-S-SW) there is only a very thin snow cover. From 1100 to 1400 there is no closed snow cover in the forest. From 1500 m there is also a closed snow cover in the open terrain in the specified expos. Every snowfall extends the season.
Snow quality
There was everything today. Rough sections, hard passages, rough sections, bad rough sections, slushy areas, etc. We were expecting more sunshine and then it would have been much better. Personally, I like changing conditions from time to time.
Risks
1s and concrete-like conditions. Sliding snow cracks, but clearly more in the shaded area. Good conditions for touring.
Overall impression
There are probably still worthwhile destinations, but there is currently no "battle" for first lines. Relaxed touring is the order of the day. With the right choice of route, the winter landscape can be explored calmly and comfortably on touring skis. The descent would have been better with more sun. There will be more next week ... Where there is enough snow today (> 1400 m to approx. 1900 m), there could be some nice descents again, but above the tree line it is unfortunately very variable.
