Snow condition
You can actually go ski touring from anywhere. At lower altitudes below 1000m it is a bit thin but possible. From around 1300m it becomes very fine. Streams are now closed in many places and we've hardly had any contact with rocks over the last two days. In addition, still above average compared to the last few years.
Snow quality
Where there was no wind, it was actually perfect today. No cover all day. Light and easy to ride. Very deep. My face shot count today was at least as high as the whole of last season.
Risks
We stuck to the standard variants and also opted for "no" on one or two runs. Drift snow can be found behind many terrain edges, sometimes on a larger scale. What surprises us are the many pockets of sliding snow that have formed during the course of the day. The LLB was perfect for Damüls today.
Overall impression
By now, my counter for powder days should have passed the 5 mark. And there have already been a few this year to remember. Today was the best for me so far. Lots of good runs. Consistently good snow and fun from morning to the end of the lift.
