Snow report Bregenzerwald, 12/12/2015
Eine brisante Mischung: schmale Kunstschneepisten und viele Wintersportler. Lokal sehr begrenzt können wenige kurze Schwünge im stark gesetzten staubigen Neuschnee gefahren werden.

Snow condition
The approx. 10-15 cm of new snow is only noticeable on the northern slopes. Otherwise it looks very thin up to well over 2,000 m. A few well-known routes can be skied with a lot of motivation. What is possible is heavily tracked.
Snow quality
There is now approx. 5-10 cm of heavily settled, dusty fresh snow (from 09.12) on top of a layer of hard snow. For the most part, the snow layer is holding. Due to the shallow sunlight, there is still good snow quality in many places. Unfortunately, however, there is a lack of a proper base.
Risks
The snow cover varies greatly depending on exposure and altitude. From nada to approx. 30-40 cm and more in blown-in areas. Due to the cold nights, the accumulating transformation is progressing. The sliding snow cracks that I saw last week show no visual change. The next fresh snow here will fall on the sunny side on a bare surface and on the shady side on a thin layer of old snow after a long period of fine weather in December.
Overall impression
Great to have been outside! Cruising down artificial snow slopes with a short detour into the backcountry is even better than other activities. As in many places in the Alps, you wait for fresh snow here too.
