Powderstart in Damüls

Snow condition
The snow conditions have improved significantly since last week. Yesterday and today it snowed about 10-15 cm. However, the snow conditions still vary greatly depending on the slope. The first grassy slopes are very easy to ski on. However, as soon as there are larger bushes or stones, they clearly show through. Overall, below average for this time of year
Snow quality
There were a few different things today. This morning it was totally wet braking snow at lower altitudes, from about 1400 m upwards. But the temperatures here were only just around freezing point. In the higher elevations of Damüls, however, we still found some good runs, with lots of nice soft fresh snow. It was definitely worth it.
Risks
The snow cover made a very good and connected impression today. However, we observed a large mouth of sliding snow on a south-facing grassy slope. The ground was probably still too warm. This was also announced in the llb.
Overall impression
All in all, a good day in Damüls with the first real powder runs. Unfortunately, the weather didn't play along today and the visibility was extremely poor. But still a good start with great snow. It was also a good opportunity to do a beep exercise again...
