Snow condition
Still little snow. Only a few centimetres of snow in the valley at around 1000 meters. Offpist only possible from about 1500 meters, depending on the slope exposure. On the mountain 2000-2500, however, 70-120 cm come together.
Snow quality
Also here between 2500-1900 north side 15-25 centimeters of set powder on hard crust good to very good to ski - then it gets worse quickly. Less powder on hard crust. But with a defensive skiing style to Ok. Wherever the sun hits the snow cover, you can expect broken snow.
Risks
The avalanche situation has eased further. The drift snow accumulations still pose a danger. The extremely large wet and sliding snow avalanches in the cirque below the Braunarlspitze are extremely interesting. Snowballs with diameters of 5 meters ..... must have been triggered by the rainfall up to 2000 m above sea level before Christmas.
Overall impression
Since we were explicitly looking for residual powder and found it on the northern slopes between 2400-1900, the 3 star would actually be more than deserved - but for the overall impression in the Bregenzerwald there are only 2 stars.
Nice tour with the usual good crew! Motto of the day when others can`t find any more powder - we find powder "stream on" ....(-;
So now we have to wait again and hope for the next snow!
