Snow condition
It finally looks like winter in the Schmirntal. It's easy to get down everywhere, you can actually ride everything in the forest and all the fences and tree trunks are well covered.
Snow quality
After the snowfall at the beginning of the week, there was still very good snow today. Although it was already a bit warmer and there was intense sunshine, we found good snow. In the forest, sheltered from the wind, there was very nice, settled powder. Even further up there was little wind influence and good powder. On south-facing slopes, you can see a slowly forming cover.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
The main danger is currently drift snow lying on snow-covered layers of sleet. On the sunny side, you should also watch out for wet snow avalanches from the steep terrain. Otherwise, you can see some signs of wind in the terrain and sometimes hear settling noises (even in flatter sections).
Overall impression
Finally had time to go out again and even had the opportunity to make use of the fresh snow. There was a lot going on, but as the terrain allows for many variations, we were able to treat ourselves to 3 rounds of first lines. Worse tomorrow due to the heat.
