Snow condition

40 cm fresh snow
Descent to valley (to 1400 m)
Blown backs
Variations of snow cover

The fresh snow saved the situation for the time being. In rocky terrain above the tree line, where there is a lot of wind influence, stone contact is not always avoidable. Not good for mid-January...

Powder snow

Top powder in areas protected from the wind, and not a little either. Otherwise also blown off or wind-capped.

Risks

Old snow problem
Woom- or hissing noise
North

Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)

Above the tree line, strong winds and poor snow cover. Heavy booms! Strong north föhn, but cool temperatures.

Overall impression

Equal

The fresh snow was nice to ski in, or would have been nice to ski in if I hadn't forgotten to shorten my bindings on the new ski boot and therefore had to telemark. Bluebird, great company, nice tour!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
