Variations of snow cover

Sufficient from/to Unterschächen. But very little. Roads and paths can be skied/splitboarded down to the valley.

Snow quality

Hard, pressed snow
Breakable crust

underground. The foehn raged in all the expos. South sides were almost the best. North sides were quite brutal, alternating between concrete, Zastrugis and breakage.

Risks

Crevasse or fall danger
North North-Eas East South-East South South-West West North-West

Wind intensity: Extreme (> 60 km/h)

The drift snow specified in the LLB is not relevant here. The snow was deposited in all directions and immediately cemented. Hard to imagine triggering anything here.

Overall impression

Equal

The CR refers to the whole weekend, February 7-9, the wind was extreme on Saturday with a real storm with gusts from all directions. A great alpine weekend with a super motivated group. The Schwarz Stöckli round tour is a real ski touring treat. Landscape and experience wow. Unfortunately, we didn't find any snow that was more than enough to get down. Therefore 2 stars for it. The entire time as a subjective mountain experience deserves 5 stars.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
