Above 2000m, unusual amounts pile up at the edge of the slope and the terrain next door is thick with snow.

There is no blower powder to be found here in the Bernese mountains, but small excursions next to the piste are great fun for the kids too. Some soft fresh snow on a firm base. As the altitude increased, the tracks down from the higher mountains in the NW-NE didn't look too bad.

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Lots of sliding snow activity in all expos except straigth north. This will last for the next few days with the clear nights, but it's already looking wild. Still cold enough in the afternoon today. But that's what I'd primarily be looking at over the next few days. Wind signs are more like crosswinds on the snow cover. Seems rather easy at altitude too.
Overall impression
Chic family day. This CR primarily serves to show that there will be top touring days in the Bernese Oberland. There are certainly great slopes to be had at altitude, even if there are no masses of deep powder. But it will be safe and not bad. Unfortunately I have to work ...
