Snow condition

There wasn't as much snow as here during the last snowmageddon in the north 2 years ago. There are already unbelievable amounts here in the valley. An estimated 3m on the houses.

Snow quality

Nice powder, but already more settled than expected and thus manageable sinking depths.

The LLB was at 4 today, which was justified by the many observations. As mentioned in the LLB, we have identified snow-covered surface frost as the primary problem. New surface frost has already formed (minus 12 degrees in the morning) and is likely to be a problem again with the next snow.

Overall impression

Just missed the 5*. With a greater sinking depth, it would have been there. We were traveling in very moderate forest and only a short stretch in very flat terrain above the tree line. There you can see the wind influence of the last few days very well and there is no reason to take anything into consideration. On the descent, the snow cover turned out to be more stable than expected. Several ski cuts in clear places were unsuccessful. This then led to a really good line over a pillow dream slope.
