Overall impression
Snow condition
In the area around Sella Nevea, the snow conditions are significantly better compared to the rest of the Alpe Adria region/Carinthia (with the exception of the Hohe Tauern from a certain altitude). Between 1500m and 2500m about 50cm to 80cm and descents with one or the other stone contact also possible up to 1000m (N-E-W).
Snow quality
The last snowfall was about a week ago. Still good powder on the north side and already spring-like on the south side, I was actually pleasantly surprised.
Risks
LWS 1 to 2 in the course of the day. South-facing slopes get soaked very quickly and I could already see a few small chutes in the early afternoon. Otherwise it's relatively relaxed and you can also tackle steeper gullies. There are still a few old snow packs under ridges. On the whole, however, a stable snow cover
Overall impression
Super day that was more fun than we had hoped for.
