Snow report Carinthia-South, 03/21/2016
Traumtag im Sella Gebiet
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
4m on the mountain and there's still enough to ski down into the valley (1200m). The snow is only gone where the sun is extremely bright.
Snow quality
On the north side from 1700m you can still find good powder on south-facing slopes. You can live with it at the end of March
Risks
Of course there were wet snow slides in the afternoon, but that can't be avoided at this time of year. 45 degree gullies were easily passable. Nice detail on the side: The only other tourers on the day were 2 people who dug profiles for the LLB....when you look at what they did, you can assume that they were sure that the snow cover was very stable.
Overall impression
Great weather, surprisingly almost alone on the mountain and lots of powder altitude meters
