Turracher Höhe - fresh snow, yay!

Overall impression
Snow condition
On the 28th and in the night of December 29th, around 25 cm of fresh snow fell with quite strong winds. This layer covered the underlying, harder layer of old snow from around 2000 meters upwards. In any case, there was enough snow at any altitude in the ski area to ski down most of the slopes without any problems, even if not all the rocks and plants are covered yet.
Snow quality
Above about 2000 meters, the fresh snow was very light and fluffy, just as you would wish. Below 2000 meters, the harder layer of old snow under the fresh snow was noticeable in places, but the old snow layer is not particularly hard. 4 stars for the snow above 2000 meters, but only 3 stars overall.
Risks
The avalanche warning level was 2, above the tree line 3. The avalanche warning level matched my own assessment. It was clearly noticeable that a lot of snow had been transported by the wind.
Overall impression
The first powder day of the season naturally lifts the spirits, especially as the snow was really good further up. Now it would be nice if there was more to come.
