A maximum of 2 stars, more like one. Up to today there has been virtually no base up to 2000m, even on the north side. 5cm from Monday to Tuesday, maybe max. 20-25cm tonight and during the day. And a lot of blowing. There's probably three quarters of a meter somewhere.
Snow quality
Yes, it's good. Ice-cold, fine-grained powder. But that's not enough. It's far too little, as you can see from the photos when you look at what it looked like before.
Risks
No danger up to 2000m as off-piste skiing is not possible. And that's what I always say when I write that it's possible, no matter how little snow there is. And above that, with the well-known old snow problem, it's certainly not without problems, although there wasn't much of a stau here and the amount of new snow is disappointing.
Overall impression
We're spending our usual New Year's vacation on the Frutt as usual - and it's fun, but only on the slopes, which are great all the way down to the valley at around 1000m - thanks to artificial snow and good grooming. On Saturday I'll see if there's more to come here in the Allgäu....
