Snow report Central Switzerland, 01/16/2017
Hip-deep fluffy powder at this year's foliage premiere - unfortunately with poor visibility. And the base on the Titlis still leaves a lot to be desired in places. But it was the first real powder day after 16 days on the slopes.

Snow condition
While it was already beautiful in large parts of central Switzerland yesterday, it snowed through on the Titlis thanks to the nordstau - only the summit was sunny. Well over half a meter fell again - with relatively little wind in the foliage. However, the fresh snow fell on a thin base. Stones and some grass appeared in exposed places after the turns. Wide areas in the foliage were simply a waist-deep dream.
Snow quality
The finest fluffy pow in the foliage - and in good quantities. On the Titlis and in the upper part of the Steinberg, due to the strong breeze, wind-pressed broken snow that is anything but nice to ski.
Risks
SLF reports considerable. A fair amount has fallen on the Tiltis over the last few days - sometimes with wind. And because of the cold, the snow hasn't really settled yet.
Overall impression
Light and shade today. In terms of the amount of snow, there are probably not many days in the season with conditions like this. You could hardly make any progress on the flat because there was so much snow. The base could have been better in certain places and I didn't expect the broken snow on the summit either. Visibility was extremely poor from late morning onwards. You'll be lucky if you have Wednesday off - because by Titlis standards, there's still very little snow. Please leave me something for Thursday - PLEASE!
